Activity description:
Via Cordata on Megali Agia in Meteora. This unique adventure that will lead you to one of the highest rocks of Meteora. Climbing the rock of Agia is a breathtaking experience. Safe hiking using equipment along the ancient path carved into the edge of the rocks, with stunning views of Meteora and Kalambaka! The route we will follow was used in the Middle Ages by the monks who lived in the ruined monastery of the little Twelve Apostles. The rock of Agia was part of the ancient fortification of the city thousands of years ago. The route combines climbing movement initially (easy climbing) and then long walking lengths in a horizontal line mainly (traverse) on a narrow path carved on the rocky slopes of Meteora by monks of much "older centuries". We also have a small rapel (down with a rope), to finally reach the "CROSS", from where we enjoy views that can not be described in words, throughout the route the view and the landscape are unique! A world truly magical! Only if one is there can one feel it! Total activity time that includes the preparation, the lesson, the access to and from the route is 3 to 4h.
